National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education Consortium

The National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc) was founded in 1920 as an association of state career education agency heads committed to leadership and outstanding performance in Career Technical Education. The association has a growing membership of over 200 senior state staff and concerned individuals that share the directors’ commitment to quality career technical education at the secondary, post secondary and adult levels.

 

Vision:

NASDCTEc is the leader in shaping the future of career technical education.

 

Mission:

Provide leadership for career technical education's role in education, workforce preparation and economic development.

 

Goals:

  • Support states as they connect career technical education to education, workforce preparation and economic development.
  • Encourage excellence in career technical education through the recognition and celebration of outstanding individuals, organizations and programs.
  • Improve and advance career technical education by enhancing collaboration with business, labor, education and other organizations with complementary interests.
  • Strengthen state level leadership for career technical education.
  • Inform national legislation and policy that supports excellence in career technical education through strong state leadership, adequate fiscal support and an effective system of accountability.
  • Promote the full participation, visibility and collaboration of secondary, post secondary and adult career technical education in all work of the association.
