As stated in the Occupational Outlook Handbook developed by the Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics:  The U.S. population is expected to increase by 25.1 million over the 2008-18 period.   As the baby boomers continue to age, the group aged 55 and older age group is projected to increase by 29.7 percent, more than any other age group.  The population aged 16 to 24 will grow 3.4 percent over the projected period.

BLS indicates - employment in construction is expected to rise 19 percent.

A major focus of HBI is to create programs to maximize the number of youth who are exposed to and knowledgeable about all aspects of the residential construction industry.  What better place for the industry to find qualified, dedicated, career-driven next generation skilled trades, entrepreneurial individuals and industry professionals than in the schools?
